Walter graduated “Outstanding Apprentice” from Ironworkers Local 84 in Houston, Texas. In November of 1977, he went to work for Shell Oil where he is currently a supervisor over Cranes and Rigging in Deer Park, Texas. Walter sang in a gospel group, The Pathways, for seven years while participating in Nursing Home ministry. He served on the board of the previous church for six years, served for about ten years as Men’s Ministry leader, served on the Building committee and led the Altar Workers Team. In 1998, Walter started ministering to those in prison by preaching the Word of God. He has done ministry work within Darrington, Terrell, Hightower, Henley, TC Jester units. He has also ministered to those in Plane State, Pam Lynchner, and Angola prisons. Currently, the church is active in doing prison ministry within two prisons. Walter served in the same church from 1988 until 2005. He is married to Kim D. Brumley and have five adult children. |
